Storms Cut Off the Monastery
The monastery was cut off from the rest of the island, due to bad road conditions, with the coming of the first snow storm of the year.
Authorities are predicting a very harsh winter for the Puget Sound Region, and we’ve aleady had record breaking cold.![]()
Conference Particpants Hosted By The Monastery
The monastery hosted a day long session of the Diocesan Pastoral Conference, on Wednesday, November 12th. The conference began with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, and progressed with breakfast, the showing of the movie, “The Fall of Byzantium”, produced (now in English) by Archimandrite Tikhon’s Moscow monastery.
Following lunch, Priest Seraphim Bell shared of his missionary travels to Nepal, and the conversion story of a Brahman priest to Orthodox Christianity. The day concluded with the ferry passage to Seattle, and the Vigil service at St. Nicholas Cathedral. This photo was taken on the steps of the monastery’s trapeza.
