Monastery News
The monks were pleased to have as our guest a brother monk from Holy Cross Hermitage in West Virginia. Hieromonk Andrew spent a week with us in July. During his stay we were all able go for an outing at the famous Pike Street Market in Seattle. The market, now a hundred years old, is the oldest continual operating market in the nation.
As well, we were pleased to have Father Boris Henderson and his Mat. Natalia, and daughter Christina with us for a few days. The Hendersons were on vacation from their parish in Denver, CO.
This has been a busy summer for the monks, and the building project continues, with a hoped for occupancy in early Fall. Due to the ongoing construction, we have decided to put off, yet another year, our annual Monastery Pilgrimage.
Once the buildings are completed, we plan an open house, as well as a celebratory Liturgy of Thanksgiving.
We’ll post the time and date on our website. Meanwhile, we will be quietly celebrating our Patronal Feast Day on Tuesday, August 14 (1 August OS,) at 8 a.m.
